LANOTEC is an interdisciplinary research space whose mission is the scientific and technological development through the application of nanoscience and nanotechnology to troubleshooting as well as knowledge transfer from the academic field to the industry.

The Laboratorio Nacional de Nanotecnología opened on August 31, 2004 and it specializes in research, design, and implementation of technologies related to nanotechnology, nanoscience, computacional nanotechnology, nanobiotechnology and material science. Today, LANOTEC has an interdisciplinary team of rearschers, an area director, and growing infrastructure.
